Colour:
Deep golden with amber highlights.
Nose:
Rich and layered on the nose. Opening notes of malt biscuits and vanilla evolve into spirit-soaked cherries, dried plum and ripe blackberry, accompanied by hints of cocoa, sweet tobacco and elegant vinous nuances.
Palate:
Soft yet structured on entry, with a full and oily texture. Sweet notes of toffee, vanilla custard and brown sugar are balanced by refined tannins and a gently woody spice. The finishing in Sforzato casks broadens the profile with elegant vinous notes of ripe red fruit, raisins, dried figs and black cherry jam, supported by subtle spice and an almost oxidative wine character that adds depth and complexity.
Finish:
Long, warm and enveloping. Lingering notes of dark cocoa, dried fruit, molasses and spiced oak persist through the finish. In the aftertaste, toasted bread notes from the malt re-emerge alongside a refined echo of Sforzato wine.
